About This Fly

Description

The Chamois Leech Fishing Fly Pattern is tied on TMC, Mustad, Saber, Daiichi, Tiemco, or Orvis hooks usually in sizes 6-1/0 using Yellow 6/0 pre waxed thread. This fly pattern is tied with a tail of fluorescent red floss, a shell back of brown chamois, a rib of gold wire, and a body of brown antron. This pattern is finished of with a brown speckled hen saddle hackle and silver bead chain eyes.

Where and When To Fish This Fly

Bass and Panfish Fly Patterns are used in all areas where there are Bass, Walleye, Pike, and all Panfish.

These patterns imitate the bait fish and other things that these warm water fish are used to feeding on. Choice of fly is dependent in part on time of year, color and area.

Other ways of course include talking to other anglers, joining the local Trout Unlimited Chapter and asking the members, and making a stop in the local fly shop. If you only fish your local waters, you will get to know what flies work on each body of water, at what time of year. If you travel, carry lots of different patterns with you, or call ahead to the guide you will be using and ask what you should bring for fly patterns.

What Will this Fly Catch

These Fly Patterns have been specifically designed to catch Bass and Pan fish. They are used to catch Bass, Walleye, Pike, Bluegill, and Crappie to name a few.
